The Spinosaurus which means genus of theropod dinosaur. These are lived in North Africa, from the mid-Albian to Turonian stages of the Cretaceous period, about 106 to 93.5 million years ago. This is discovered in 1910s and described by German paleontologist Ernst Stromer. In recent years they find out the skull material of Spinosaurus. The best known species are S.aegyptiacus from Egypt, and S.marocannus from Morocco.
It has a sail like structure, and grew up to 2 meters (7ft) long. Spinosaurus is the largest of all known carnivorous dinosaurs. They are larger than Tyrannosaurus rex and Giganotosaurus. According to the estimations, it was around 16 to 18 metres (52 to 59 ft) in length and 7 to 9 tonnes (7.7 to 9.9 short tons) in weight. This belongs to Spinosauridae family, and the subfamily is Spinosaurinae.
They had six or seven teeth on each side of the very front of the upper jaw, in the premaxilla bones, and another twelve in both maxillae behind them.They had very tall neural spines growing on the back vertebrae. Few Spinosaurus fossils were spoiled during transport back to the Deutsches Museum, in Munich, Germany, and remaining bones were fully lost due to Allied bombing
