Shirley Ann Manson is a Scottish musician and actress. She is a famous singer of the alternative rock band Garbage. She was born on 26 August 1966 in Edinburgh, Scotland. At present, she lives and works in Los Angeles.
She started her musical career in the early 1980s. After seeing Manson in an Angelfish video on MTV, Garbage invited Manson to record with the band for one album: the multiple Grammy Award nominated Garbage. She got a good name and her three studio albums are very famous. These albums racking up 17 million record sales over ten years. Then she got an acting opportunity in 2008. The Sarah Connor Chronicles as series regular Catherine Weaver, a liquid metal T-1001 Terminator.
John Mitchell and Muriel Flora Manson were her parents. John Mitchell was a university lecturer while Muriel was a big band singer. She has two sisters, Lindy Jayne, Sarah. Manson attended Presbyterian Church until the age of 12, where her father was also her Sunday school teacher.
