Kevin Jennings’s full name is Kevin Brett Jennings. He is an American educator, author, and administrator. He is currently working as an Assistant Deputy Secretary for the Office of Safe and Drug-Free Schools at the U.S Department of Education.

He was born on May 8, 1963 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Kevin Jennings holds degree from Harvard University, Columbia University’s Teachers College, and the Stern School of Business at New York University. He got the position of co-chair of the Education Committee of the Governor’s Commission on Gay and Lesbian Youth in Massachusetts. He wrote six books on gay rights and education. He also won the Lambda Literary Award.

He came from the poor family. His parents were Chester Henry, and Alice Verna Jennings. He completed his graduation from Radford High School in Honolulu. He received his bachelor’s degree magna cum laude in history from Harvard University. His domestic partner is Jeff Davis. On May 19, 2009, Obama administration Secretary of Education Arne Duncan announced Jennings appointment as an Assistant Deputy Secretary for the Office of Safe and Drug Free Schools.
