Carlos Hathcock

Carlos Hathcock’s full name is Carlos Norman Hathcock II. He was a United States Marine Corps Gunnery Sergeant Sniper. He got a service record of 93 confirmed kills. He was born on May 20, 1942 in Little Rock, Arkansas. His nickname is Long Trang du Kich (White Feather Sniper). His extraordinary dedication made him to become a major developer of the United Stated Marine Corps Sniper training program.

He grew up in rural Arkansas. His parents were separated in his childhood. After that, he lived with his grandmother. He is very interested in shooting and hunting. His family is very poor. So, he started that profession of hunting at a young age, partly out of necessity to help feed his poor family. He had a nice riffle. On May 20, 1959, he enlisted in the Marine Corps, at the age of 17.

On November 20, 1962 Carlos Hathcock was married to Jo Winstead. They had one son, Carlos Norman Hathcock III. He liked his father’s profession. So, he was followed in his father’s footsteps as a shooter, and became a member of the Board of Governors of the Marine Corps Distinguished Shooters Association. Carlos Hathcock won many shooting championships. In 1965, he won the most prestigious prize for long range shooting, “Wimbledon Cup” at Camp Perry. He was confirmed for kiling 93 North Vietnamese Army and Viet Cong personnel during the Vietnam War.
