Brittany Murphy is an American actress and singer. She was born on November 10, 1977, in Atlanta, Georgia, U.S. Her parents were Sharon Murphy and Angelo Bertolotti. Her parents were separated at the age of two years. After that, she was raised by her mother in Edison, New Jersey, and later in Los Angeles. Then she entered in her acting career. Brittany Murphy’s mother was an Irish and Eastern European descent and her father is Italian American. She changed from Baptist to non-denominational Christian.
Murphy was entered in Hollywood at the age of 14. She acted in the series Drexell’s Class. She acted in many successful movies, including Clueless (1995), Girl, Interrupted (1999), Drop Dead Gorgeous (1999), Don’t Say a Word (2001), The TV adaption of the novel The Devil’s Arithmetic (2001), 8 Mile(2002) and Uptown Girls (2003). Some of her lesser known movies are Spun (2003), Romantic comedy little black book (2004), Sin city (2005), Sidewalks of New York (2002), and “The Groomsmen” (2006).
She began dating with her co- star Ashton Kutcher in “Just Married”. In 2005, she has engaged with Joe Macaluso, and cancelled their engagement in August 2006. She was married to British screenwriter Simon Monjack at a private Jewish ceremony in May 2007. On December 20, 2009, she was dead by cardiac arrest in Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
