Monali Thakur was born on November 3, 1985 in Kolkata, India. She is an excellent playback singer. Her father name is Shakti Thakur. He is Bengali singer and actor. Thakur’s sister Mehali Thakur-Goswami is also a professional playback singer.

Opportunity
She is very good singer. Monali Thakur was participated in many school and college singing competitions and also performed in local functions. She got many prizes and rewards. She has participated in the best singing competition “Indian Idol 2”. She had completed each level in the competition successfully. At last, she was eliminated in the final round. But the judge, Anu Malik was impressed by her singing style. Then, he offered her a future singing opportunity. She got offer to be a playback singer in the movie “Jaan-E-Mann”. After that she got opportunity to sing two songs in the bollywood movie Race in 2008. Those songs are Khwab Dekhe (Sexy lady), and “Zara Zara Touch Me”. Actually, she selected to sing only one song in that movie, but the film directors are very impressed by her songs. Then she got offer for another song. “Zara Zara Touch Me” song is very nice song and successful song on Indian radio during the first half of 2008.


She also sang in the movies Golmaal Returns, Mr. Bhatti on Chutti, Dulha Mil Gaya, and recent film Billu Barber. She is started her first first solo album which has included nine tracks.
She got selected for best singer in “Screen Film Awards” for excellent song “Zara Zara Touch Me”.
