On Friday October 30, 2009 Telecom service provider Bharati Airtel launched 1 paisa per second billing plan. This offer is called as Airtel freedom plan. This freedom plan launched for GSM Mobile customers in all over India. Asia’s leading incorporated telecom service Bharati Airtel has introduced this offer because of rising competition from new plans Tata DOCOMO by Tata, and Reliance plan by Reliance. The President of Bharati Airtel Mobile Services, Atul Bindal said that of today our Airtel network covers 110 million customers, has 100,000 sites and is available across 4.25 lakh towns and villages in 1.5 million outlets.
This Freedom Plan provides, one paise per second for all Local and STD calls to same network and 1.20 paise per second for local and STD calls to other networks. Bharati Airtel mobile services states that of freedom plan is only for Airtel prepaid subscribers. Newly joined customers in Airtel will get the charges of 1 paisa for one second on LOCAL calls to any network and STD calling to any network across India. This offer works upto first 30,000 seconds after that charges would be 2 paise per second. Airtel customers will activate this plan by calling 121 from their Airtel mobile without any extra cost.
