INTRODUCTION:

Nine(9) is an animated action film directed by Shane Acker. Tim Burton and Timur Bekmambetov are the producers for this fantasy animated film. This film is an expansion of a short film of the same name. The main actors in this film are Elijah Wood, John C.Reilly, Jennifer Connelly, Crispin Glover, Martin Landau and Cristopher Plummer. The screenplay for the film was written by Pamela Pettler. Due to the violence and scary images, the film is rated PG-13 by the MPAA.
STORY OF THE MOVIE:

The movie mainly shows how humanity amidst of science and technology lost its power. To explain this, the movie begins with the scientist creating a mechanical doll (9), which tells about this. Later on, the scientist dies giving life to the doll. The movie consists characters which are also named as the stitch punks. 9 will meet every one and try to escape from Cat Beast. Later on, it finds information about the Fabrication machine. 9 gets support only from few members among the nine members. Totally, there are four machines in the whole story. They are:
- Fabrication machine: It is designed to build war machines. It tries to destroy the stitch punks. It will be later defeated by 9.
- The Cat Beast : A big cat like machine. It is created by fabrication machine. It cannot tolerate bright light. Later it got defeated by 7.
- The Winged Beast : A pterosaur like machine. It is also a machine created by fabrication machine. Its wings are made from the national flag. It has four eyes. It got destroyed when its tail got caught on a spinning propeller.
- The Seamstress : It is a mixture of cobra, an angler fish, a spider and a crab. It has a mechanical eye. It again gets destroyed by 9.

MARKETING:
The first trailer was released on December 25, 2008 on Apple.com. All the machines were shown in the trailer. The movie got released on 9 September 2009 i.e. (09/09/09). It is the second animated film released by Focus Features. Recently, a viral campaign website for 9 has been launched
9 will get released on DVD on December 29th, 2009.
