Nick Rimando is a famous soccer player for America who is currently playing for Real Salt Lake in Major League Soccer. He is the goal keeper of the team. His number in the team is 18.
PERSONAL:
He was born on 17th June 1979 at Montclair, California, United states. He went to the Montclair High school, and played two years of college soccer at ULCA. He tended the goal as the Bruins won the College cup in the year 1997. He signed a project-40 contract with MLS after his sophomore year. He married his girl friend Jacqui Little in December 2005. He recently had a son who was named Jett Nicholas Rimando.
PROFESSIONAL:
He took the starting position from Jeff Cassar, after getting selected as the 35th in the 2000 MLS Super Draft by the Miami Fusion. He helped the Fusion win the 2001 MLS Supporter’s Shield after his playing 22 games as a rookie and 25 as a sophomore. He was selected third overall by D. C. United in the following Allocation draft. In the year 2006, he played only two games in the whole session. On 11th December 2006, he got traded to Real Salt Lake along with Freddy Adu. He led MLS with 146 saves in 27 games. He performed very well against New England and Toronto in the year 2007. He continued as the first-choice keeper in the years 2008 and 2009. He got the name as MLS player of the month July 2008. He was named as MVP after saving three penalty kicks in the year 2009 MLS Cup against LA Galaxy.
