A young boy (Daryl Sabara) in Grand Rapids, Michigan in the 1940’s who is hoping the true spirit of Christmas. He hears some noise from downstairs. He wants to investigate that, and goes to downstairs. He sees a shadow of what appears to be Santa Claus. Later, he knows that it is his dad with his sister on his shoulders. He wants to know about Santa Claus and the North Pole.

About an hour, after his parents leave, a magic train called The Polar Express pulls up in front of his house. He boards the train to journey to the North Pole. He sees the North Pole’s Industrial area, Control Center, Wrapping Hall, and warehouse. The boy asks the beautiful sounding silver bell which fell from Santa’s sleigh. The boy takes the bell. All the children return to the train. Actually the bell in his pocket is missed, but he finds the bell behind the tree again. Both he and his sister enjoy the beautiful sound, when the boy rings the bell.
