Swami Vivekananda

The actual name of Swami Vivekananda is Narendranath Dutta. He is the great person. He is also the chief disciple of the 19th century mystic Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa and the founder of Ramakrishna Mission. He was born on 12th January 1863, in Calcutta, Bengal Presidency, India. Vivekananda is considered to be a major force in the revival of Hinduism in modern India.

His speeches are extraordinary, and very effective. He is starting his speech with “sisters and brothers of America”. In 1893, he introduced Hinduism at the Parliament of the World’s Religions at Chicago. Ramakrishna was the master of Vivekananda. He taught him Advaita Vedanta and that all religions are true and service to man was the most effective worship of God. In America and England, Vedanta societies were established by Vivekananda. His father was Vishwanath Datta. He was an attorney of Calcutta High Court. His mother was Bhuvaneshwari Devi.

Some of his effective teachings are, each soul is potentially divine. The goal is to manifest this divinity within by controlling nature, external and internal.

Do this either by work, or worship, or psychic control, or philosophy-by one, or more, or all of these-and be free.

This is the whole of religion. Doctrines, or dogmas, or rituals, or books, or temples, or forms, are but secondary details.

Haridwar is a great holy city and municipal board in the Haridwar District of Uttarakhand, in India. Haridwar means Dwar of Hari or Gateway to God. This place is one of the 7 holiest places of Hindus. According to the Hindu mythology, Haridwar is one of the four sites where the Amrit (elixir of immortality) spilled over from the pitcher, after the Samudra manthan. The remaining three spots are Ujjain, Nasik, and Allahabad.

Haridwar is also famous for learning various arts, science, and culture. The city has the great source of Ayurvedic medicines and herbal remedies and is home to the unique Gurkul, including the Gurukul Kangri Vishwavidyalaya, which has a vast campus, and has been providing traditional education of its own kind, since 1902. The Haridwar district is centered by Saharanpur in the west, Dehradun in the north and east, Pauri Garhwasl in the east, Roorkee, Muzaffarnagar and Bijnor in the South.

The Haridwar is mainly subdivided into three tehsils, such as Haridwar, Roorkee, and Laksar. The summer temperature of Haridwar is 15 °C – 39.8°C, and in winter 6°C – 16.6°C. There are many famous temples including Chandi Devi temple, Mansa Devi temple, Maya Devi temple, Daksheswara Mahadev temple, Doodhadhari Barfani temple, and Sureshvari Devi temple.

Cuttack is a famous city in the eastern Indian state of Odisha. This is one of the oldest places India. This city is the second largest city in Orissa, and the capital of that state. The correct pronunciation of Cuttack is Katak. The city is placed in a tongue of land formed by the Mahanadi River, and its main branch the Kathajodi River at their points of bifurcation.

The Cuttack city was established in 989 A.D. At that time, this city is also called as the “Millennium City”. For ten centuries, this is the capital of Orissa. After that, the capital of the Orissa was changed. At present, the capital of Orissa is Bhubaneswar, about 20 km away in 1948.
