In 1893, he introduced Hinduism at the Parliament of the World’s Religions at Chicago. Ramakrishna was the master of Vivekananda. He taught him Advaita Vedanta and that all religions are true and service to man was the most effective worship of God. In America and England, Vedanta societies were established by Vivekananda. His father was Vishwanath Datta. He was an attorney of Calcutta High Court. His mother was Bhuvaneshwari Devi.

Some of his effective teachings are, each soul is potentially divine. The goal is to manifest this divinity within by controlling nature, external and internal.
