Susan Sarandon’s full name is Susan Abigail Tomalin. Sarandon is her husband name. She is an American actress. She was born on October 4, 1946 in New York City, New York, U.S. She is an Oscar award winner by the performance in the 1995 film Dead Man Walking. She is also noted for her social and political activism for a variety of liberal causes.

Sarandon’s parents have nine children. She is the eldest of nine children. Sarandon’s father Philip Leslie Tomalin was of English, Irish, and Welsh ancestry, and her mother Lenora Marie was of Sicilian/Italian descent. She came from Roman Catholic family. In 1964, she completed her graduation in Edison High School, in Edison, New Jersey. She also completed her BA (drama), in The Catholic University of America from 1964 to 1968.

She acted in many films and received five Academy Award nominations for best actress in Atlantic City (1981), Lorenzo’s Oil (1992), and The Client(1994), finally winning in 1995 for Dead Man Walking. She got married with fellow student Chris Sarandon in 1967, and they divorced in 1979. After that, she has been in a relationship with actor Tim Robbins, and they have two sons. She was appointed UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador in 1999.
