The actual name of Swami Vivekananda is Narendranath Dutta. He is the great person. He is also the chief disciple of the 19th century mystic Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa and the founder of Ramakrishna Mission. He was born on 12th January 1863, in Calcutta, Bengal Presidency, India. Vivekananda is considered to be a major force in the revival of Hinduism in modern India.

His speeches are extraordinary, and very effective. He is starting his speech with “sisters and brothers of America”. In 1893, he introduced Hinduism at the Parliament of the World’s Religions at Chicago. Ramakrishna was the master of Vivekananda. He taught him Advaita Vedanta and that all religions are true and service to man was the most effective worship of God. In America and England, Vedanta societies were established by Vivekananda. His father was Vishwanath Datta. He was an attorney of Calcutta High Court. His mother was Bhuvaneshwari Devi.

Some of his effective teachings are, each soul is potentially divine. The goal is to manifest this divinity within by controlling nature, external and internal.
Do this either by work, or worship, or psychic control, or philosophy-by one, or more, or all of these-and be free.
This is the whole of religion. Doctrines, or dogmas, or rituals, or books, or temples, or forms, are but secondary details.

He also states: “It is not the sign of a candid and scientific mind to throw overboard anything without proper investigation. Surface scientists, unable to explain the various extraordinary mental phenomena, strive to ignore their very existence.”
