Thomas John “Tom” Brokaw is an American journalist and also an author best known as the anchor and managing editor of NBC Nightly News from 1982 to 2004.NBC Nightly News is the daily evening news program for the NBC News in the New York City. He wrote The Greatest Generation which  is a term coined by journalist Tom Brokaw to describe the generation. And he wrote other books and is the recipient of numerous awards and honors. He is the only person to host all three major NBC News programs.

Brokaw was born on February 6th,1940 in Webster ,South Dakota,US. The is the son of Eugenia who worked in sales and as a post office clerk,and her mother Anthony Orville  Brokaw.He was the eldest of their three sons and was named as Thomas Conley. Tom lived for short period in Bristol and then in Picks town before settling in Yankto  where Brokaw attended

Brokaw was governor of South Dakota American Legion Boys State .He is married to Meredith Lynn Auld .She was a former of Miss South Dakota and also an author from 1962. They have three daughters ,Jennifer Jean,Andrea Brooks and Sara Auld.By the end of his time as Nightly News anchor ,Brokaw was regarded as the most popular news personality in the US. His News had moved into first place in the Nielsen ratings in late in 1996 Brokaw’s retirement in December 2004 ,followed by Rather’s ouster from the CBS Evening News in March 2005 .After leaving the anchor chair Tom remained at NBC as special Correspondent . Tom and her wife were traveling in the car. He make an accident .In that accident one lady was killed .They both were escaped.
